The W forms part of Samsung's new smartphone naming convention, which consists of five categories: S (Super Smart) is for the very high–end smartphones, R (Refined) is for high–end, W (Wonder) is for upper mid–range, M (Magical) is for mid–range smartphones and Y (Young) is for entry level smartphones.
The Galaxy W runs on Android v2.3 and it has a powerful 1.4 GHz processor. ItÆs relatively light, weighing in at just 110g and it packs in a 3.7 inch touchscreen. As with most Galaxy smartphones there are two 2 cameras. On the Galaxy W, the primary camera on the back is 5 megapixels with autofocus, LED flash and 720p video recording. The secondary camera on the front is a VGA camera with the main purpose of video calling. 2GB of memory is available with the phone with the option to upgrade to 32GB via a microSD card, which is standard in this class.
